TERMS AND CONDITIONS

WHO CAN TAKE PART ?

  • The participants must be between the age of 16 and 25.

  • The participants need to form teams (2 to 4 people).

  • The participants need to live in Europe

  • The participants need to speak French (for the first edition)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Your idea must have economic potential, i.e., in the long term, the viability of your project must not rely solely on public or philanthropic funding. The idea must have the potential to “live on its own”.

    If you have any doubts about this, contact us by e-mail and describe your idea in a few lines and we will guide you.

  • Your idea must address the issues proposed in the challenge.

  • Your idea must have a neutral or even positive effect on the environment.

    For example: an idea that reduces the carbon footprint of maritime transport but causes abrasion of the seabed will not be eligible.

  • Your idea must not be implemented.

    • Your idea must be in the idea stage:

      • The legal identity of the project must not exist.
      • The legal identity of the project must not exist. The search for funding must not be underway.

      If this is the case, do not hesitate to share your project at the following address: contact@pangaeax.org. We will do our best to draft you towards more appropriate accelerators.

    Selection requirements

    • IMPACT 

      Do the suggested solutions have a positive impact? Is sustainability at the heart of the proposed solution?

    • INNOVATION

      How innovative is the proposed solution? Do alternative solutions already exist? If so, how does the proposed solution differ from these alternatives?

    • RELEVANCE

      To what extent does the solution address the issues expressed in the challenge?

    • FEASIBILITY

      To what extent is it feasible to implement the proposed solution?

    FORM YOUR TEAMS

    IF YOU HAVEN’T FORMED YOUR TEAM YET, FEEL FREE TO JOIN THE PANGAEA X FACEBOOK GROUP TO FIND YOUR PARTNERS.

    Each team will have to nominate a team captain and a communication officer. In addition to developing their project, teams will be required to document the entire program. They will be responsible for sharing their progress with as many people as possible, using all the digital tools available to gather communities.

    THE BIG STEPS OF THE CHALLENGE

    SUBSCRIPTION
    Upon registration, participants will be invited to submit their applications on our website www.pangaeax.org

    The application must contain:

    A press release to present the solution.

    A 2-minute video presenting all team members and  motivations

    Registration will be open from 9 January to 6 March 2022.  We will select 10 teams to go through to the first phase.

    PHASE 1

    During Phase 1, the 10 selected teams will be invited to participate in the program’s kick-off session on 8, 9 and 10 April. This is an inspiring and intense 3-day event that kicks off the Pangaea X program. It ensures that teams are set on a trajectory to help them reach new heights. The participants will meet the jury, and other young enthusiasts. They will meet the team coach, who will accompany them throughout the journey. The goal is to enable a real and profound transformation of the participants, which will allow them to become the leaders of tomorrow.

    DELIVERABLES: At the end of this stage, each team will submit a presentation describing the project by presenting the problem, the proposed solution, its impact on the environment, and a brief economic analysis.

    SELECTION: At the end of phase 1, 5 teams will be selected to proceed to phase 2.

    PHASE 2

    In phase 2, each team will further develop the solutions with the help of their team coach and experts. During the first weekend of July, the 5 finalist teams will be invited to Switzerland. This time, in addition to expert advice, their physical and mental fitness will be tested to prepare them for the final expedition. The participants will take part in the final stage of the program from home.

     

    The finalist teams will present their developed solutions to the jury.

    PRIZE-GIVING CEREMONY

    At the Awards Ceremony, a ranking of the finalist teams will be established. This will be the right moment to exchange with the jury and the program partners, to develop possible collaborations ! On the same occasion, a two-day public event will be organised. Conferences by different speakers, workshops and stands around the theme of adventure will be organised. In addition, the next edition of the Pangaea X program will be announced.

    BEFORE YOU GET STARTED

    Your team has until midnight on the 6th of March to present your solution. If your idea is chosen, you will have the opportunity to take part in the Pangaea X program.

    Before completing the registration form, please ensure that you have:

    • Acknowledged the rules

    • Acknowledged the terms and conditions

    • Acknowledged all the questions of the registration form

    • Formed a team of 2 to 4 people

    • Downloaded and completed both deliverables (Press release and video)
