SELECTION CRITERIA

WHO CAN TAKE PART ?

  • Participants must be between the age of 16 and 29 years old (born between 1994 to 2007)
  • The participants need to form teams of 2 to 4 people (4 recommended)

  • Participants must reside in a European Union country or in Switzerland.

  • Participants must be fluent in English.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Your idea must have economic potential, i.e., in the long term, the viability of your project must not rely solely on public or philanthropic funding. The idea must have the potential to “live on its own”.

    If you have any doubts about this, join the Open Kick-off Weekend !

  • Your idea must address one of the SDG and have a local dimension with global potential.

  • Your idea must have a neutral or even positive effect on the environment.

    For example: an idea that reduces the carbon footprint of maritime transport but causes abrasion of the seabed will not be eligible.

  • Your idea should not be implemented.

    • You must have made an initial exposure of your idea to your potential target. (Interview, survey, lead generation, promise to buy). It is a potential customer feedback.

      Selection requirements

      • PROBLEM STATEMENT 

        • Environmental challenge: How well does the project proposal identify and explain the environmental issue that it seeks to address? Are the problem and its underlying causes clearly defined and supported by data?

        • Customer problem: How well does the project proposal show it understands their potential customer’s pain points? Are these pain points and its underlying causes clearly defined and supported by data and evidence?
      • PROPOSED SOLUTION

        • Environmental: How well does the project proposal articulate the proposed solution to the environmental issue, including its design, technology, and feasibility? Does the solution align with the themes of the Pangaea X program and contribute to the SDGs?

        • Customer : Does the project proposal show evidence of being in the market validation phase with at least one potential customer feedback collected by the team?
        • IMPLEMENTATION PLAN

          How well does the project proposal outline a high-level plan for implementing the proposed solution, including the timeline, budget, resources, and key milestones? Is the plan feasible and well thought out, given the scope of the proposed project?

        • EXPECTED IMPACT

          How well does the project proposal explain the potential impact of the proposed project on local communities and the environment? Is the expected impact clearly articulated and supported by data, statistics, and other evidence?
        • FINANCIAL VIABILITY

          How well does the project proposal demonstrate a clear financial sustainability plan, and is it designed to be financially self-sufficient without depending on donations or other philanthropic resources?

        • TEAM MEMBERS

          How well does the project proposal describe the background, skills, and experiences of each team member? Does each team member have a clear role and contribution to the success of the proposed project?

        Your team has until midnight on the 9th of July to submit your solution. If your project is selected, you will have the opportunity to take part in the Pangaea X 2023 program.

        🚨 QUICK REMINDER 🚨

        The Pangaea X program is a six-month commitment and requires at least 9 hours per team per week on average for the duration of the program. At the end of the program, a for the winning team a week-long trip is organized with Mike Horn, the date of which is yet to be determined.
